“My name is Karlee, I’m 28 y/o dancer from Adelaide, South Australia. I experienced a pretty catastrophic injury while competing in a dance comp, dislocating my patella during the playoffs for champion dancer. The appointments I had with Dr Scott were so valuable. After a few sessions, I felt I was able to manage my own rehab journey better, but I always went back to the exercises I learned through my DPT programs. I’m now one year later, and I went back to the same competition and finally won Champion dancer. I can’t thank Dr Scott and DPT enough! “
“He’s awesome! He catches things that other PTs might not catch because of his knowledge of dancers. For the dancer, there is nothing better than a physical therapist who also specializes in dancers’ healing, progress, and injury prevention. I couldn’t even do A relevé on my left foot when I came to him. I spent years not experiencing full recovery, but after meeting with Dr. Scott and 2 weeks of doing the exercises, I finally started to see improvement. I’d recommend him to anyone!“
Meet Dr. Scott, a Trailblazer in Dance Performance Enhancement. I’ve walked this path with my wife through her professional ballet career, as well as 100s of other dancers. I understand the confusion and frustration that comes from the overwhelming advice we get online and in the studio. Everyone wants you to do more pilates, more stretching, try this exercise, plus make time for all your life’s demands.
My mission goes beyond sharing expertise; it’s about connecting with each dancer personally, cutting through the noise to provide a clear, effective path to success. With a commitment to transforming dance care by combining the best of dance science and sport performance, I’m here to guide you every step of the way.

“I am a member of the SunDolls dance team at the University of South Florida. Last season, we worked with Dance Performance Training to build more power and flexibility as a team. Throughout my dance career, I have had many hip injuries that have caused me to feel weak and lose flexibility. Dr. Scott took the time to listen and understand my problem, then provided us with many exercises to strengthen the muscles in that area. I highly recommend working with DPT! They are very passionate about what they do and provide an amazing experience for all. If you are looking to grow your strength and flexibility while working with compassionate people, choose DPT!“
“I felt extremely supported through check-ins, video guidance on the app, and his timely responses to any questions I had. Dr. Scott is unique due to his understanding of ballet and the specific strength a dancer needs. I would encourage any dancers experiencing pain or imbalances to see Dr. Scott to get on top of it right away.”
“As the Head Coach of a collegiate dance team that was preparing for a national competition, I reached out to Dr. Scott of Dance Performing Training to help put our dancers in the best physical place possible. After our first session with DPT, our dancers were able to walk away with much more than preventative and strengthening exercises. So many gushed about how their form improved during traditional exercise; many skills came easier and smoother, and of course, landed certain skills smoother and lighter and without the pain they initially caused.“
“My name is Maddy, and I am a ballet, tap, jazz, and contemporary dancer! Before Dance Performance Training, I was struggling with hip pain while dancing. I originally came to the program for the physical therapy aspect, which went really well and cleared my hip pain! I then transitioned into their training program. This has helped me so much to feel stronger and improved my dancing all around. They are so helpful and always reaching out to make sure that my program is the perfect fit! Dance Performance Training has been truly amazing, and I would 100% recommend it to anyone looking to improve their dancing!”

Common Mistakes in Cross Training for Artistic Athletes So we’ve taught you how to start implementing a program in a prior post, but now let’s
Review the information below to find out which track is the right one for you. You can also watch this video that walks you through the options.
Once you have chosen your track you can submit the form at the bottom of this page. Select one and only one option, please.
If you have access to equipment such as free weights, any cardio equipment (rower, stairs, treadmill, bike, etc.), and other things common in a fitness center, “Group 1” is for you!
If you’re primarily doing this at home, with resistance bands (though a few small weights can easily be added if you have them), but still can use stairs, bike, run, or have some cardio equipment access, select “Group 2”
Lastly, If you don’t like to run, and don’t have access to any cardio (no stairs, bikes, or lap pools) then the last option is for you! “Group 3”
This program is made specifically for the demands of male dancers, taking into account some extra work for upper body to support partnering, extra stability for the lower back, etc. This option is similar to group 1 in terms of equipment need.
No track is better than the other, you will get results regardless. You can find more information about the equipment requirements for each track by scrolling down.
